I have the exact same problem. I read above to try to create a new user
account and I did. However the same thing eventually happened on that account
as well. The icons and startbar pop in and out before becoming inactive, and
i can usually start a couple programs before it goes out. Your help is grealy
appreciated

I purchased Dazzle Video Creator Platinum with Pinnacle Studio 10 included. I followed instructions
in setting up the program prior to attaching hardware. Before using the program, I checked for
updates and downloaded ver 10.8.

Running the program, everything went well until I started to use the transitions to connect clips -
the screen went blue with warning messages which were impossible to read because it shut down my
notebook computer almost immediately.

This happened every time I use the transitions feature to connect clips. Error reports were sent to
Microsoft but the problem was out of their hands, saying that I need to upgrade device drivers from
Pinnacle. I did that by upgrading to ver 10.8 and can do no more. Is there a slight chance that the
problem can be overcome within the Windows XP environment?

Error Signature send to microsoft every time the computer crashed:

10000050 BCP1:E2200000 BCP2:00000001 BCP3:BFA0C63F

BCP4:00000001 OSVer:5_1_2600 SP:2_0 Product 256_1

Does the above make any sense?

My comouter is a notebook with XP Pro Media Centre. 2GB memory and 160GB HDD.

I am surprised no one answered my question. A lady responded to me in private how to solve the
problem!
Open Studio 10, open Setup, go to 'video and audio preferences'. Uncheck the "Enable hardware
acceleration" box. Close the program and restart. Problem solved.

It worked. have posted here in case any of you out there have the same problem as mine.
