Blank Desktop & no toolbars

Hi everyone,

I'm facing aproblem since this morning. When i startup my
pc, i only get a blue screen at desktop. No icons and the
startup toolbar. Nothing is available on display. However,
the system works fine because i can acces most of the
programs by using ctrl+alt+delete, using task bar &
command prompt.

From the command prompt, I can startup explorer & get
connected to internet too.

Any idea what can i do before going for a complete
reinstallation of OS?

Try logging into safe mode and check for some automatic
services that is causing the problem, disable them and try
to log into windows.
