Black Screen

Just lately the screen on my monitor goes blank for just a moment and comes
back on.The monitor doesn't go out just the screen. I've opened the Power
Options and set everything to Never. (Turn off monitor, turn off hard
disks,System standby, System hibernates, now set to never turn off
..
Running Xp Home SP 2. Dell 4550.

Any other suggestions would be appreciated.

Try: Start>Control Panel>Appearance and Themes>Screen>Settings>Advanced>Monitor and decrease the frequency.

Mike,
Nvidia video cards had this problem at one time. I
experienced the same problem periodicaly on my Dell 8200.

Check for and updated driver for the card. Can't hurt.
