Black screen...

Hi, this propblem has only been with me since last nighte, but when u quit
any gamethe screen just goes black, everything is still running underneath
because i typed to sombody while the screenwas black (couldnt c a things tho
lol). When i restart the windows xp loading screen comes on, but when the
login screen comes it is still all black, i have to switch off for at least
1/2 hour before it works again, i think its somthing to do with Full Screen
mode as i tested directdraw (the one where square bounces around screen) and
it did the same thing..

i hope somebody can help me as a am a big fan of online gaming and its a
rite head blag

It is possible a cached copy of a file has become corrupted. Try this:
Start | Run | cmd | OK
sfc /purgecache
exit

If that doesn't do it, try uninstalling (not a disable but do an uninstall)
of your Graphics adapter drivers. Be sure to have available the latest XP
driver version before you do that! Do not reboot after the driver uninstall;
instead immediately install the newest driver and THEN reboot.

If that doesn't do it then you might be experiencing hardware failure of the
graphics card, or motherboard chipset, and so you might borrow a card from
someone else and try installing it to rule out that possibility (follow the
manufactures' XP installation instructions very exactly).
