black screen when attempting to use My TV

i have quite the problem on my hands.
My TV has been renedered useless on my Media Center.
When i attempt to watch a channel from the guide all i get is a blank screen.
When i try and watch recorded TV, the screen is also black.
It is also totally silent.
However, when i fastforward of search backwards i get the feed i should but
when i try to play it all i get is a still of where i was when i was
fastforwarding/rewinding.
PLEASE help,
i don't know what is going on.
