Every time I start the computer, sign in, receive a black screen momentarly
with Normal mode printed as if I pressed F8.

How do I eliminate the black screen appearing?

It's not too hard, but you must edit boot.ini to do that. start/run, type:
sysdm.cpl.

Advanced tab, Startup and Recovery area, settings button, Edit button, set
'timeout' to minus one (-1) and OK. Remember how you did this by saving this
post, so you can undo it as needed.

During setup noticed value set at 5. Changed to minus one (-1). It
prolonged the black screen and able to watch the count down.

Reset at zero (0). Seems to work fine...thank you for the avenue.
