Black boarders that fill in the white portion of photos

After I scan in the photos into My Pictures then try to import them int
Microsoft Plus Digital Media edition All the blanck white portions of the
picture is all in the black. . . .

If you want the images to fill the screen, they must be in
Landscape orientation...if they are in Portrait orientation,
you will see a black strip on each side of the image.

If you are unhappy with the appearance of your scans,
you need a digital image editing program that will allow
you to prepare them for your project.
