.bkf File Copy Problem

I go thru the process of creating backup files (.bkf) of selected files and
write them to a directory on my C: drive.

I then copy/paste or drag/drop them onto a CD for my "off computer" backup.

I am having a problem putting them on my CD. When I do either of the above
copies, the system appears to put them on the D: drive and just continues to
show the copy popup window. Nothing is being copied that I can tell.

I have recreated the back up files
I have reformatted a new CD
I have copied other files to the D: drive and opened them.
I have run the latest anti virus update and found a bug, removed it and the
problem still occurs (W32.Mota.B@mm)
I have never had this problem before. No new programs, no new anything
installed.

It only seems to happen with the backup files that I have the problem, NOT
other files.

One other thing:
In the past, when this is successful, the file name created on the D: drive
is 0KB until the file is done copying (~5-10 min). Now, it immediately
apprears as the complete file size, which is different.

Also - it seems to start the copy, but after 15 seconds +/-, it appears to
hang.

Any suggestions??

Thanks!

More info about the issue.

I was able to copy a .bkf file that was small to the CD.

Could it be some type of buffering problem with large files?

Windows 2000 has no built-in CD burning capability.
What software are you using to provide drag 'n' drop CD burning?
What happens when you try to burn the .bkf file in the "normal" way?
Packet writing has never worked very well in Win2K.
