Bizzarre Error with Access

One of my colleagues is trying to use Access and when she runs it - only the
title bar displays but nothing else - the desktop is still visible through
where the access forms etc should be - the switchboard items are there as we
can use the cursor keys to move them (the name changes in the top title bar).

The taskbar also shows the items within the database that are loaded i.e
database itself, main switchboard and a table (we run individual FE with the
BE on a server so I keep a table open to ensure connection maintained).

Every other PC that has this database has none of these problems

Any ideas - i am banging my head trying to figure this out

thanking you all anticipation

Something is eating up the resources on that computer OR it has been
customized to not look correct.

First look at the taskbar and see how many things are running and not needed.

Second run a good spyware scanner like Ad-Aware or Spybot. Then run a good
virus detector.

Next right click on the desktop and bring up properties. On the Themes tab
select Windows Classic or Windows XP. If you see something else, that could
be the problem. Over on the Appearance tab do the same.

Next go to Settings and make the screen resolution less and/or the number of
colors. You might want to try the Troubleshoot button to see if there is a
problem.

You could also click on the Advanced button and go to the Troubleshoot tab.
Knock down the Hardware acceleration a bit to see if that helps.

Access (MDB) isn't reliable enough for real world usage

move to Access Data Projects

you should use a tool like DreamWeaver

of course, if you're moving to the web-- you're going to want to use
SQL Server

Thanks for the advice Jerry.

The simplest solution is always the best solution. She had actually grabbed
gold of the bottom of the database window and scrolled it up under the title
bar. Grabbing the bottom of the window and pulling it down with the mouse
solved the problem.
