Bizzare problem, need some HELP!!

I am working in a 'book' that, as of yesterday, began displaying a value of
zero ($0.00) regardless of what 'should' be displayed. The formula's/sheets
were working just fine 2 days ago, yesterday this started:

Cell A1: contains value of $267.
Cell A2: contains value of $166.
Cell A3: contains formula =sum(A1-A2) < with this formula, the value
displayed is now showing as $0.00. Again, 2 days ago, everything was fine. As
of yesterday, this entire book suddenly does not want to display anything but
$0.00 anywhere that I type/enter a formula, even when the actual value's
being 'called' would/should never be returning $0.00. Anyone at all ever
heard of this?? HELP. I've got over 16 years in Excel and consider myself
advanced to 'expert' in the commonly used features of Excel. I'm fairly
handy, have built thousands of books, do lookups and plenty of complex
linking of sheets and formula's, but this one has me completely stumped.
HELP!!

It is generally wise to copy/paste the formulas into your post instead of
retyping them, since you might accidentally correct the problem in the
retyping.

=SUM(A1-A2) is redundant; =A1-A2 does the same thing with less typing.

Is there a circular reference?

What do you get for =COUNT(A1:A2) ?

I have the same problem, however, the cells in my book display 0. I can copy
parts of the spreadsheet to a new sheet already open and the formulas return
the correct answer. Did you find a solution?
