bizarre-display went lo-res and turned sideways

deMy wife was playing a game we have had on our computer for a long time when
suddenly, the display went very lo-res and everything turned sideways. She,
then I, restarted the computer and that didn't change anything, still
sideways. I finally restarted it and got things back to normal using System
Restore to the previous day. I scanned for viruses and spyware/adware, all
normal there. Any iedas what this was all about?

Low res from the game settings, and sideways from pressing the screen
rotation hot-key combo. Something like CTRL +ALT+ arrow key.

Some display drivers have the ability to rotate the screen. As to why this
happened I have no idea.
Should it happen again try using the control panel display option.

Also found the alt/ctrl arrow trick...by searching. Why do I always post,
then search?!? d'oh!
