BITS service was not fixed up (Error 80004002)

Hi,

I've an updateproblem on a W2K machine with SP4. Everey try on an
updates ends in an error 80246008 (BITS not running). I checked the
services and everything seems to be ok. BITS is running.
In the logfile I found the following lines as a reason for 80246008:

DnldMgr FATAL: BITS service was not fixed up and thus CCI was not
reattempted. (hr = 80004002)
DnldMgr FATAL: Failed to connect to the BITS service; unable to start
new downloads or interact with existing download jobs.
(hr = 80004002)

The following registrations won't work for me:
regsvr32 wuapi.dll
regsvr32 wups.dll
regsvr32 wuaueng.dll
regsvr32 wucltui.dll

The virus scanner (Kaspersky Workspace Security 6.0) had been
uninstalled during my trials.

Any hints?
