windows 2000 server update error

hello everyone!!!!!!!!


I am trying to update windows 2000 server(with sp4) for pateches and
security update.but all updates are failed and none are downloaded.
i am not sure what is going there ...

There is no antivirus installed or no such software which can prohibit to
insall activex controls.

i am attaching the windowsupdate.log files last 100 or more lines for your
reference...can you please take a look at my query and please update me with
the suggestion that what is going on there....what is the solution..how can i
do server update without any such problems...

Error 80070433 means that one of the services on which BITS depends
has been deleted. You can see the list of necessary services if you
run "services.msc", double-click on "background intelligent transfer
service", and click the "dependencies" tab. Try to identify which
service is no longer present.

notification Service) is not found in services.msc control.

Can you please provide me any suggestion how can i bring this service in
services.msc control back.

please provide me necessary steps for this if you can.

I would grab the Windows 2000 CD and upgrade over the existing O.S.
If one service is missing, then it's possible that other elements of
the O.S. are also messed up, and the upgrade should get them all
straightened out.

I am wondering if i use windows 2000 CD and do upgrade?
does this upgrade affect to any of my existing installed programs...like i
have Mail server running on this server, IIS Web server is also running, Time
clock Server is running.

If you feel please provide me any link or any material you have
how to do this without affecting my existing installed programs.

Actually i am looking step wise information so i do not have to worry about
for any mistakes or any error that might occur.

An upgrade (not a clean install) should keep your existing programs
intact. Sorry, I don't have a step-by-step guide for you.
TechNet might have some helpful resources.
