BIOS update

Does anybody know how to do a BIOS update with an Asus
A7V333 motherboard? I want to update from revision 1005
to 1017. Their book just confuses me. I feel the updat
is necessary because I am planning on replacing my
processor with an AMD Athlon XP 2600+ barton core CPU
with a 333MHz FSB.

Travis -
Doug's advice is good - but I'd like to add one thing.
Don't try to update your BIOS simply because you 'feel'
that it would be a good thing. Unless you are totally
certain about every step - you can really mess things up
royally. There's the old saying about "If it ain't
broke ... etc". You might hold on and see if it's really
necessary before you try something which you could regret
later.

Make sure you have a UPS connected when you do a BIOS update
because any power surge or failure will likely destroy your
BIOS and therefore the motherboard.

Go to their web site, the instructions there are pretty good, I did mine
several times. Caution only do the upgrade using the floppy drive method.
One other thing the CPU you want to install may not work on that motherboard
unless you have the latest version of the motherboard. I seem to remember
it is version X only. However you can install the 266 FSB version of the
2600 plus in all versions as I recall.

One other thing--this is the wrong Newsgroup for this question.
