BIOS Update

Ok, I downloaded an update for my BIOS from Intel, it said that it was going
to shut down and install, it did, when the computer loaded back up it said I
needed to activate windows. After messing with that for a while I finally
got it to go through. (Wrong Key was entered) Now every time I start up my
computer, it doesnt say Sony Vaio anymore, it says Intel. How can I change
this back?? Is there a way to uninstall a BIOS update?

Thanks!

Who told you you should install a BIOS update in the fierst place ?

If this was a Sony VAIO then the ONLY source of a BIOS update would be from Sony.

Do you realize that you can KILL a computer by installing the wrong BIOS or install it
incorrectly ?

So what BIOS did you download and install from Intel ?

The only way to correct the situation is download the latest Sony BIOS from Sony based upon
your Sony model number. If you are lucky, it will work and it will correct your problem.

Why did you update the BIOS? David is right in his admonitions. You've
changed the BIOS signature from Sony Viao to Intel and you're lucky you
could re-activate at all. I will differ with David's advice on one point
though, if it's working fine other than the dumb BIOS splash screen,
LEAVE IT ALONE! Fashing again to a Sony BIOS will run the same risks. If
it ain't broke, don't fix it!

Use the backup of your old bios that you made before you flashed. You
did read the docs before you flashed and you did make a backup as it
said, right?
