As you do not mention make and/or model, contact the vendor and ask how you
return your system back to the state in which you purchased it, or employ
the services of a local reputable repairer.

Pulling the battery only serves to reset the entire BIOS to its creation
date, most likely some time during 1999, so your date and time will be
wrong. The more usual way to enter BIOS is to press the DEL key, or in some
cases, F1 or F2. These are shown on the Splash screen at start-up, or are
contained in a manual (subject to one having been supplied).

In BIOS, there is ALWAYS a way to 'Save and Exit', but you are just not
seeing it. For more help here, you will have to provide make and model, and
a list whatever CDs were originally supplied with your system.
