BIOS flash won't hold (register)

I don't know whats going on but I'm trying to flash my bios and it won't
hold. Upgrading to bios p4ced14.rom ... it goes successfully but when I
reboot it alwaeys go back to original (9).
Any suggestions would help, I've tried quite a few different things. But to
no avail

Just flashed mine to 1014 no problem. Did you use a boot floppy and afudos?

Yes, it successfully flashed but when i reboot it reverts back to the old #

Most systems require you to go into the bios and select Load Setup Defaults
in order to enable the new bios, otherwise the older bios will remain even
though you "successfully" flashed the new one. Load Setup Defaults, Save
and Exit, then you can go back into the setup and change things however you
wish.

Another problem may be that you have a jumper on the motherboard to clear
CMOS memory. This jumper is put on only to clear the memory, but the pins
should be open for normal operation (no jumper).

Flashed several BIOS and never had to do this. Flashing usually resets
stuff to defaults and you have to change things back. At least that's my
experience.

It would appear that the revision # does not show up in the bios. I noticed
in the posting of the machine it says revision 1014.

Now I have a problem with my primary ide. I can get it to set the master
(DVD) and slave (CD-RW) but when I boot the slave is not recognized and it
disappears in the bios. I move it to the secondary and it is fine.

Yeah, I thought that was a bit weird too. After flashing the BIOS the build
date and ID changed in Main-System Information-AMIBIOS section.
