Bios and Auto Detect?

anthony

My PC was functioning fine for over a year, then suddenly I get an
"Operating System Not Found" error. I went into the bio and noticed
that the harddrive is not being autodetected anymore.

Is there a virus that can cause this kind of problem?

Thanks

It's most likely a catastrophic hard disk failure. When a hard drive is no
longer detected at all, it usually indicates a failure of the drive
electronics. I like to check the drive in another computer for
confirmation. Check the cable and connectors also, but they're a less
likely cause.
