BIG5 and GB2312 in Outlook 2003

O

OS5

Hello all,

I am a newbie to this forum and I appreciate any helps.

I have a MS Windows XP Professional SP2 (Traditional
Chinese) and a MS Office 2003 Professional SP1
(Traditional Chinese).

On the Outlook, I have to receive e-mails written in
Traditional Chinese and Simplified Chinese. I can view the
sender's name and e-mail topic if they are entered in
Traditional Chinese but I cannot see them if they are
entered in Simplified Chinese.

I tried to change the Geophraphical settings of the
Windows to Chinese (PRC), then I found I can read all e-
mails (sender's name, topic and content) with no problem.
However, the left hand side menu in the Outlook becomes un-
recognizable.

Please help.

Hi all,

I am also facing the same problem.
Actually now I am using Mozilla, but amazed by Outlook 2003 e-mail
organising powers. So I wanna switch.
Mozilla has no such language problem, which I've been using for more than a
year. If there Outlook 2003 has such a flaw then I think I am not going to
use it.

However if anyone know how to solve this problem I will be appreciated.

Outlook *should* handle them fine - I have no problems with it with the
default configuration of English Outlook and windows rendering big5.

What language is your os and office?
