My system works on Windows XP, installed on my main disc (c:)

Yesterday I turned off my pc as usual.
This morning I turned it on again, but then it suddenly said:

Bootable cd does not exist...
DISK BOOT FAILURE, insert system disk, press enter

So I put my XP-installation cd into the driver and I press enter. I
choose 'r' for repair.
Then I have to confirm it's about < 1. C:windows/ > Till now I
understand.

But then it asks for the Administrator password. I've entered that
password for the last six months I think, so it had to be no problem.
I tried 3 times, and another 3 times, and another....but still it says
< wrong password > What's that? Well a friend told me I had to
remove the little battery inside for 3 hours...and after that the
settings (and admin. password) would be gone. But it does not work.

It still asks the admin. password and everytime it says: wrong
password.

I hope someone is able to help me with this. Thanks!

Use boot disk [98] then fdisk

Boot from XP CD - format - install.

You should just be able to hit enter where it asks for password and it should continue.
That option simply gives a command prompt. If you want to run the repair option you should
skip typing R and do the next option which is to install windows xp. it will give the
option to do a repair (sorry, don't know exact statements right off hand).
