I see lots of new stuff but since Windows 95-->Windows XP the Windows
Explorer hasn't changed much.
Why can't they add tabbed browing or multiple windows explorer, ftp and
other features in Windows Explorer.

Let me know if someone knows a better Windows Explorer.

Thanks
Arun

PowerDesk from V-Com. Download a partially functioning version from
www.v-com.com I've been using it as a replacement for years and "PC
Magazine" did give it an Editor's Choice award a while back.

Or its near-twin Novatix Explorer Plus.

You can have multiple windows explorer with XP. Just give the same command
more than once. I usually use Windows Key + E to open explorer. Do that
twice, right click on an empty spot on your task bar and choose Tile
Vertically or Tile Horizontally. That gives you 2 Explorer windows which is
nice when you're dragging and pasting from one area to another. It really
helps if you're moving stuff from a server to your hard drive or vice versa.

As for tabbed browsing. It's not quite what you want but I have (in
Explorer), navigated to a folder I use frequently. I right click it, choose
Copy, go to my desktop, right click, choose Paste Shortcut and... "Voila", I
have a shortcut that opens Explorer at exactly the level and area I want to
be in. My previous keyboard crapped out so I got a new one that has extra
keys. Some of them are: My Documents; My Pictures; My Music; Mail,
Web/Home; etc. Those are quick ways to "browse" to something you want. It
even has 5 keys like old FM radio buttons. You can program them to open IE
at the exact location you want. You can also open IE, highlight the URL
line, right click, choose Copy, and paste shortcuts on your desktop. I
created a folder called COM on my desktop and have dragged all the IE
shortcuts into it to reduce the clutter.
