Better OCR in Word expecially for correctly recognizing fractions,

Any ideas for getting MS Word to recognize scanned recipes, where many times
the ingredients are listed in fractions. Any other more advanced OCR in Word
re: math symbols and formulas would be appreciated. Using Word 2003; HP
ScanJet 5550

You need better OCR software - Try Finereader 5, 6 or 7.

I appreciate your response, but I am looking for cheaper alternative...a
search for this software begins at $250..could adjusting the resolution or
anything like that work?
