Better image quality in document header?

I have a JPG image in my Word document header, which I am then converting to
PDF using the Word Save as PDF or XPS option. The JPG appears to be highly
compressed in the header and it doesn't look nearly as good as the original.
How can I get the JPG to look better? on final PDF output?

Yes the conversion to PDF can denegrate the quailty of JPGs, sometime
regardless on what you do with the conversion settings in Acrobat.
I have a company letterhead, with a nice version of the logo in the Header,
but I have two versions of the file, one with a JPG image for Word/hardcopy
delivery, one with a high quality EPS version of the logo for when it will be
PDF'd. Basically find a very high quality version of the image and test them
out.

agj13075 - I have been trying for years to solve this problem without much
luck, and have the as previously described solution. Unfortuantely the high
quality EPS file looks terrible in Word but does PDF very well.
