What type of account in Windows are you trying to install Microsoft
AntiSpyware under?
If its a limited accounted, it is not supported by MSAS in the beta 1
release.
If its an Administrator account, I would uninstall Microsoft AntiSpyware,
and delete the Microsoft AntiSpyware folder located at c:\program files,
restart the computer and reinstall Microsoft AntiSpyware to a non-default
location such as c:\msas.

Thank you for reply, all accounts are administrator. I have 5 accounts set up
only 1 works, I have tried uninstall etc and got "error 101" when I logged on
after update "error 1904" when I try re install or repair. As U can see I
know very little about computers. I really need antispyware on all accounts
as account my teenage grand son uses brings in heaps of spyware/adware. I
will now try your suggestion
thanks

Download the following and run a thorough scan in safe mºde:

NOTE: Make certain to update every app before booting into Safe Mode since
you WILL NOT have access to the Internet from Safe Mºde.

Ad-Aware - http://www.lavasoftusa.com

Spybot S&D - http://www.safer-networking.org/

Make certain to not to select any of the pernament protection for Spybot and
DO NOT immunize the system, as this can interfere with WD' Real-tme
Protectiºn.

CWShredder - http://www.intermute.com/products/cwshredder.html

SpywareBlaster - www.javacoolsoftware.com/sbdownload.html

JavaCool's free SpywareBlaster automatically adds a lengthy list of
dangerous addresses to IE's Restricted sites. SpywareBlaster is compatible
with AOL's browser; it also works with current versions of the Netscape,
Firefox, and Mozilla browsers. Its most recent iteration is SpywareBlaster
3.4.

Ccleaner - http://www.ccleaner.com

Also check windows updates for your OS to make sure you have the latest
security patches and service packs instªlled :

In safe mode, some of the protective services which these programs use to
ensure that they aren't removed, are not running, so they are easier to
remºve.

You might try what Engel suggested. I will try later tonight when house is
quite.
I downloaded "Spybot S&D" earlier today and got 40 threats on 1 user and 49
on another.Probably my own fault I thought I only had to run "Beta" on 1 user
and it would get rid of all spyware on all users. So I'm not sure it was
working before I got the "Error 101" on other users. My grand children only
use their area on weekends. I knew they were going to sites with a lot of
spy/adware being teenagers, when they went home I ran "Restore" for 2 days
previous I thought this would get rid of any unwanted spy/adware etc. I am
really out of my depth with these people who know what they are doing, have
only had computer for 1 year and I use it mostly to play games. eg. Tomb
Raider etc. when I got tired of the playstation games. Hope others might be
able to help you more.

Wasn't game enough to try what Engel suggested, not good enough with the
computer, just a beginner. I have restored to 20th November then downloaded
Beta from Microsoft again, all 5 users working fine now. After umpteen
uninstalls and reinstalls I can finally stop banging my head on the desk!!!!
Also tried uninstall then setting up new user with admin, that did not work
either. Thanks for everyone's help. Hope it stay's fixed.

Congratulations. I don't know of an easier fix. I think you took the right
way out.
