I ended a horrible battle with pop-ups by wiping and
re-configuring.I was doing a search about messenger,
(looking for chatbots, actually)as soon as I hit that
site,I knew something was wrong,so I disconnected the
modem from the router.I ran a scan.....nothing.
It had added two extensions to
HKEY_LOCAL_MACHINE\Software\Microsoft\Internet Explorer\
Plus it also affected...
HKEY_CURRENT_USER\Software\Microsoft\Internet
Explorer\Extensions\CMD Mapping
HKEY_LOCAL_MACHINE\Software\Microsoft\Internet Explorer
toolbar and...
HKEY_CURRENT_USER
Software\Microsoft\Internet Explorer\Toolbar
I dumped my cookies, temp files and history and got
back on-line.My point is that the scanner missed this
noxious batch of pop-up malware altogether.(Maybe they
keep up and reverse-compile everything that you guys do
to stop them...)
I am happy to report three or four pop-ups in fifteen
hours of surfing on Internet Explorer since re-
configuring. The Beta scanner has definitly helped...Keep
up the good work.

Fred,
I'm not clear here, but was it 'Smiley Central' that hit you?
