Best XP Telnet software to test news servers

What is the best WinXP software which allows me to telnet to news
servers and test if they are open and working?

I want something with more function than XP line commands because
it would be nice to just click an entry in a window and have that
target 'accessed' by telnet.

telnet msnews.microsoft.com 119

Put it in a shortcut. Hyperterminal is a GUI telnet client.

I saw one here today, perhaps you might find it useful.

MTelNet: a simple but comfortable line based telnet client.
"used for telnet connections to remote computers or the direct
communication with mail- and newsservers. Since it supports
copy and paste it can be used to post offline written usenet
articles."
