What is the best way to remove programs? Use the add/remove programs in
control panel or the uninstall feature of the program. Thanks again for all
the help.

Hi

Use Add/Remove Programs in the first instance. Some programs may not be
referenced in Add/Remove Programs - you can then use the uninstall option
via Start>Programs (if there is one) or uninstall the program from it's
folder.

Depending on the length of time since the install and how much else you have
done/used besides the program.. Uninstalling one of those ways and then
performing a System Restore to the time before you installed it initially
would really clean up well..

If much time or other actions have taken place in between, then you are
already uninstalling perfectly.

Using ADD/REMOVE PROGRAMS links to a programs uninstall feature and
(hopefully) ensures that the entire system is aware of the removal..

If I'm not mistaken, as a general rule, "Add/Remove Programs" in Control
Panel simply calls the uninstall program registered by each programs
installer files. So there is no particular advantage in using the program's
uninstall program directly.

Obviously, if a program is not registered in the "Installed Programs" list,
using "Add/Remove Programs" in Control Panel would be useless, so you would
have to use the program's Uninstall program (if there is one). Otherwise,
you would have to delete the program's folder, and manually remove any
Registry entries it's installer program inserts in the Registry.
