does video(especailly avi) and audio? Thanks

Awful in which terms?

I find WMP good enough rather than having 4 different players.
Cole2K codec pack, real alternative lite and quicktime alternative lite,
then WMP take all common media found on the net.

From what Ive read, the system resource useage is awful, and its versatility is
limited.I know a few people who do a good deal of mixings and recording and
they hate it as well. I personally dont have much of a problem with it,cept
the size and the codecs thing now and then and it never plays AVIs

If you dont have a problem with it, why dont you then just stick with it.

Your firends probably do not like it because it is a player (hence
the name) rather than a recorder/mixer.

Regarding your problem with AVI it is not WMP's fault, you just do not have
the proper codecs.

As mentioned in my earlier post, with the 3 mentioned packs WMP will take
almost everything (almost because rare old codecs are not included).

Thanks-I actually had vlc for a while to play my avi's but i wasnt a fan of
its library setup

So my search for a new player caused me to be rash and I deleted wmp11,hoping
to free up space. Now that it seems Im better of with wmp11,Ive tried to
reinstall it several times but each time the install fails.I saw a similar
thread on here but cant find it,any suggestions?
As far as info,it goes through install til its at 100percent,than tells me
wmp11 could not be installed at this time, please try again or contact help.

Hello;
I am trying a new player, you may be interested in using.
www.gomplayer.com/
If you need a codec, you can add codec from several sites.
I am trying "K-Lite".
www.codecguide.com
It is rather personal,"what is the best".
I used WMP11 for a couple of days, then removed and replaced with WMP10.
Perfer WMP10, due to it's ability to give the user a few options concerning
DRM.

take care.
beamish.
