best instant file finder?

What do you use to locate files instantly using a string in the filename?

Ava Find is great, but the freeware version is seriously crippled. All the
right-click functions are disabled.

My "desktop search" program is OK so far, but the index is not complete and
the index is not instantly updated like Ava Find.

I tried Locate32, but I didn't think it was nearly as good as Ava Find.

I use Google's Desktop Search with the deskbar instead of the default
toolbar as deskbar can search all sorts of stuff esp when modified.

doesn't index. "find" will definitely not give instant results, especially if hd is newer (era of larger hd) than cpu/mobo/ram.
agent ransack, free version, can save results, but i don't think it does background indexing.

i already can't recall but: could win95,98's "Find" save it's results?
