Being flooded by out of office replies

In my previous email system, there was a setting for use when sending to
large distribution lists (which I have to do all the time), such that you
could choose NOT to receive automatic out-of-office replies, and thereby not
be flooded by them.

Is there such an option in Outlook, to as I'm back to being swamped by
these things?

No, outlook doesn't have such an option. You could create a rule to delete
them when they are from inside the network (apply to all mail with out of
office in the subject, then add an exception if address has @ in it.)
