Began installing wrong product

Got to the enter password section and realised rather than installing our new
XP home I'd installed my father's XP pro and obviously couldn't apply the
product key. Tried to install XP home using the bootable disk and now it
just keeps going to the previous installation of XP pro which I can't get rid
of.

How can I delete this xp pro installation? It was the first installation
onto a blank hard-drive.

Boot from Windows XP Home CD..
When it asks where to install - delete the partition(s).
Create new partition(s).
Install Windows XP Home.
