Beeps once every three minutes like clockwork

Thanks for potentially helping with this.

My computer does a one beep thingy every three minutes like clockwork

(sounds like a booting up beep) It just started tonight after I was
using
Kazaaaaaaa... (I know) But after running my two updated anti-virus
programs, I still cannot get it to go away. I also did try an updtaed
Ad-aware and Spybot to no unusual avail, so I'm really stumped.

I Googled the *** to death, but to no avail. (I like that expression).

Any help would be appreciated.

Running xp.

Thanks.

Apparently other things are happening in threes, like your post. :-o

Have you checked for over temperatures in the hardware? If the
motherboard or computer maker provides a temperature monitoring utility,
run it to see if it reports high temperatures, out-of-range voltages, or
overly slow or dead fans. Some BIOSes also have a screen to show their
measurements so you can boot, go into BIOS, and check there. Does the
computer beep when you do NOT load the operating system (i.e., hit the
Break key after the POST, go into and stay in the BIOS screens, or hit
F8 and sit at the boot menu)?
