Beeping when loading W2K Pro

My daughter's computer is constantly beeping when loading
the op system. Then it quits and the monitor screen
remains black. It doesn't get to the point of being able
to enter into the troubleshooting modes.

Any suggestions to the problem and the solution.

Try checking hardware: keyboard and mouse inserted correctly, and any
internal components (video or audio card not seated properly).

Try making sure that none of the keys on the keyboard is stuck down.
If possible, temporarily swap the keyboard with a known good one...
Otherwise, try firmly tapping each key in turn to see if it frees anything
up... had similar issue a while ago.
Someone eating at their desk = crumbs in keyboard jamming keys ;-)

If this doesn't fix it, follow Steve's advice. It sounds like there may be
something not quite connected right inside your system unit.
