Hi all,
I hope someone will be able to help me out here....
I had a bad hard drive and for some unknown reason, i wanted to make sure it
was bad so i installed it in my computer. i was right, the hard drive was
bad. All of a sudden i was hearing a solid continuous beep... turned off
computer and replaced the power supply. Started the computer and got one
long and three short beeps. Video card i thought. Pulled out my vodoo 3
card and replaced it with an ati card. Restarted and got the same beep
pattern.
what could this be? is the agp slot burnt out?
thanks to all
.
you haven't mentioned which BIOS you have.Different BIOS
have different beep patterns.
For example IBM in your problem indicates Video (EGA)
Display Circuitry.Whereas AMI BIOS indicates Base/Extended
Memory Failure. In case of Award One Long and Three Short
Beeps Keyboard Controller Error again Phoenix BIOS
indicates CMOS Read/Write problem.
