BCM slow load

Greetings,
Does anyone have any ideas on how to improve the load time of BCM? I am on a
brandnew machnine with 512 MBRAM but it takes about 1-2 minutes to start BCM
once the intitial outlook is loaded.

That's it. Look at the file name BCMV2UPD.EXE

Date published June 14.

When they say BCM "update", that referes to v2. THey dont call it v2, it
seems.

Thanks, Ed. I ended up doing my annual harddisk format, reinstalling windows
and office, and downloaded BCM2. It is still taking a good 30-60 seconds to
load BCM after Outlook has started. Is this normal? I am running Pentuium M
1600 MHZ with 512 MB.

Well, it seems so... Dont be that depressed, I tried Act! 7.0 and same
story. It's the dot.net and MS SQL Desktop that both install... If you
close and reopen, it will be much faster.

Im still battling with the less-than-optimum design of BCM2, as far as
usability and intuativeness goes...

Check to see if BCM's SQL instance (MICROSOFTSMLBIZ) service is set to
start automatically when your PC boots. If not, BCM will have to start
it and that will take 30 secs.

You can check the service setting by:
Start
Right click My Computer
Manage
Service and Applications
Services
Select the BCM SQL service
Right Click
Properties
Startup type: Make sure it's automatic
