BCM Send Unwanted Reminders

For two years I have been trying to find out why BCM 2007 occasionally sends
up thousands of reminders that are connected to my business contacts. I
haven't set any of my contacts up with reminders and after going through the
trouble of dismissing them all, they return a few weeks later. I can't find
any rhyme or reason??? I've run the cleanup command a number of times but
that just dismisses them in bulk and then they come back again a few weeks
later.

I have seen this question posted many times through the years on various
websites but have yet to find the answer. Can someone PLEASE help!
 
We have the same problem in our company. People complain about this, and
there does not appear to be any resolution.
