BCM Office Addin error

Guest

I suddenly started getting a error dialog box when I start Word, Excel,
PowerPoint, or Publisher. The error box title says "BCM Office Addin" and the
dialog says "Office application version does not match."

If I go to the COM Addin management of the application, it says

Location: C:\Program Files\Microsoft Small Business\Business Contact
Manager\BcmHistoryAddin.dll
Load Behavior: Not loaded. A runtime error occurred during the loading of
the COM Add-in.

Any advice on this error?

I am experiencing the same problem. My PC is preloaded with Vista Business
and Office 2007 full version with BCM. I receive the same errors every time
I open .ppt, .doc. & .xls files.

OK. It sounded good... But now I recieve an "Error 1913: Could nut update
INI file C:\Windows\system32\maipisvc.inf. Verify that the file exists and
that you can access it."

I found the INI file and am able to access it. It looks like we are getting
strings from others who installed a new patch for Outlook (KB933493). Any new
Ideas??

I installed the patch from the KB article and it worked fine for me....
Sorry to hear that was not the case for you.
Check and see if that file is set to read-only, that might make a
difference....

I recently purchased a new computer with a trial of Office 2007 bundled. I disinstalled it and installed my 2003. This error message keeps popping up whenever I open an Office document. I am a computer neophyte. What do I do? If I download the patch from support.microsoft.com, will that solve this problem? Thank you.

The patch is for Outlook 2007 and BCM 2007.
If you are using Outlook 2003, you should use BCM 2003 version.
So, in that case uninstall BCM 2007, if it is there and install BCM 2003.
