BCM installation hangs

Can anyone help. I have a problem with the installation whereby it
hangs at the end of the second pass of green bars. I have to delete it
using Task Manager. When I then load Outlook the BCM software wixard
starts up and seeks to open/create an SQL database. I choose Create and
then get an error message to say "This action cannot be completed
because Business Contact Manager cannot access the database" followed
by "SQL Server does not exist or access denied".

It also wont uninstall, it hangs again.

I have Windows XP SP2 with Office 2003.

Thanks in anticipation.

Does it hang during first part of the installtion or during the end part of
it ?Coz if it hangs during the second part of it should be an issue with
MSDE.Can you check for the confgsvr.out files created under C:\Program
Files\Microsoft SQL Server\MSSQL$MICROSOFTSMLBIZ\Install and tell me what it
reads ?

temp folder, you can get there by going to start > run > %temp%.If you have
it open the same and open up the find window and serach for "return value 3"

Try a clean boot
I have seen BCM hang on the last bar or two (or rather site there for
sometime). This could be conflict between MSDE and Antivirus, Spam blockers
etc...

Take a look at the following article:

I meant fine with the component checker. I still have the problem. Does
