BCM email linking and deleted emails

Hi everyone,

1. Linking emails to contacts

If I delete an email that was linked to a contact in BCM, will I still be
able to read and access that email in the history for the contact? What if
the email had an attachment - can I still access/open the attachment if the
email was deleted?

2. Deleted emails

When do emails really "delete"? I am confused as to when an email is really
gone - I see emails crossed off, for example, when I move an email from one
folder to another, but then if I double click that crossed off email I can
still read it.

Thanks!

BCM stores a link to the Outlook email. If you delete the email in
Outlook, BCM will not longer be able to open it, but can only display
some properties of that email it stored in the BCM database.

When Items are deleted, they are really move to the deleted items
folder, and can still be opened. Items are "hard" deleted (removed)
when they are deleted from the deleted items folder.

Thanks Luther.

I am still confused though.

Right now in my inbox I have the view "group messages marked for deletion" -
and I have 100 messages with a line through them indicating they were
deleted/marked for deletion. Even if I empty the deleted items folder (which
I also have set to do automatically when I exit the program) I will still
continue to see those messages.

It doesn't bother me that I see them (I like to remember what it is I
deleted) but I just want to understand why they still show if they were
supposed to be deleted.

I don't have that behavior, and I don't know what would cause it.
Everything in the InBox, and all Outlook folders, is controlled by
Outlook, not BCM, so you may get a better answer in the
microsoft.public.outlook group.
