bcm does not open

Hello,

My bcm 2007 gave an error message and then I closed it. When I open Outlook
2007

now, bcm is not present. I tried to reinstall / repair from the cd but got

the same result.

I also removed BCM and reinstalled I still get the same result. This is
basically I go to help menu, enable BCM, close Outlook 2007 and try to
reopen Outlook. Outlook tries to reopen and the closes. When I try to reopen
Outlook again I get an error message:

"Outlook experienced a serious problem with the 'business contact manager
for outlook' add-in. If you have seen this message multiple times you should
disable the add-in and check to see if an update is available. Do you want
to disable this add-in?"

I answered yes to disable add-in and Outlook starts.

I opened the mssmlbiz with the following tool versions with no problem and
could inspect tables in the database.

Microsoft SQL Server Management Studio Express
9.00.2047.00

Microsoft Data Access Components (MDAC)
2000.086.3959.00 (srv03_sp2_rtm.070216-1710)

Microsoft MSXML
2.6 3.0 4.0 5.0 6.0

Microsoft Internet Explorer
7.0.5730.11

Microsoft .NET Framework
2.0.50727.832

Operating System
5.2.3790

I ran updates from Microsoft update site today, July 11, 2007.

Still does not work.

Any help greatly apppreciated.

Thank you,

SJB

I have the exact same problem and have not figured it out yet as well...
I've searched all online forums for answers but nothing that works yet. If I
find an answer I will come back and provide a post to this...

Hello,

Finally after searching a lot I found something that looked similar on bcm
blog. It suggested deleteting registry key "Business Solutions eCRM". I was
reluctant to do that, but I did anyway. It imporved things and Outlook
stopped just dying away but still gave an error and no bcm. Then I installed
again by clicking on "MSSMLBIZ.msi" from bcm install cd. I selected option
to use existing database, and everything came back nicely.

Why is the registry key not documented? Why is the registry key still there
after an uninstall?

In the Registry check:
HKEY_LOCAL_MACHINE\SOFTWARE\Microsoft\Office\Outlook\Addins
\Microsoft.BusinessSolutions.eCRM.OutlookAddIn.Connect.3

Or something close to that.

There, the value for LoadBehavior should 3, or Outlook won't load the
BCM add-in.
