BCM 2003 Fails to install on vista 64

I am trying to install BCM 2003 on a computer that has Vista 64 bit OS.
during the install it requested that .net1.1 patch be installed. i did that
then it request BCM sp3 be intalled. but of course you can do that until BCM
is intalled. so i continued with the install. everything is fine untlil it
gets to installing the service and it just hangs. any ideas on what i need to
do?

There's a BCM sp4, that upgrades BCM 2003 to work with Vista. It's
intended for machines that had XP and Outllok/BCM, and were upgraded
to Vista.

Since BCM 2003 was released several years before Vista, I doubt
there's much that can be done to BCM 2003 setup to make it compatible
with Vista. For one, it tries to install Sql Server 2000 MSDN and
configure the service, but Sql Server 2000 is not supported on Vista.

Perhaps someone else has some tips.

Does this mean the only options is to go to a third party vendor or upgrade
to Office 2007?

Pretty much, unless you are willing to diagnose problems (generally
due to permission/security changes on Vista) and fix them.

I am willing to work through this. i just need a little direction on what is
causing the problem.
