Basic Template

I have some knowledge of Access and have been requested to create a simple
database for a small health business. Basically the business only needs a
customer database which includes customer records, insurance and treatment.

I thought it might be a good idea to seek out a template and modify it to
their needs.

Are there any good free databases out there to suit my needs? I have
looked at the microsoft templates but the rest is a minefield for the
uninitiated like me.

What's wrong with the Microsoft templates??? You could grab parts of
the "Northwind Traders" database, or use parts of the "Ledger" or
"Inventory Control" (etc.) databases that the Access Database Wizard
will set up for you. (It's a pretty easy wizard to run; most of what
you need to decide is what file name to give your database file.) Or,
having looked at these examples and compared them with what you need to
do for the health business, you could even open a blank database and use
the Table Wizard to set up sample Tables for the types of information
you expect to handle. Just delete any fields you don't need.

Also remember that "free" usually implies "unsupported", whereas if you
base what you do on the Microsoft templates that other people use as
well, you might get better answers on this NG if things go wrong.
