bar at bottom gone

I'm not sure what I did, but the bar at the bottom of the screen is gone. I
don't know how to get it back to shut down my computer or get the things that
I have minimized. Please help.

Put your mouse pointer at the bottom of the screen...it should turn into
a double ended arrow..when it does, drag up, and voila.
 
The taskbar can also be dragged to the top, left and right of the screen, so
if Doug main's suggestion doesn't work, look for it there.
