banner ads wont display

totally frustrated ... I am using fp 02 and set up the banner ad manger as
instructed, but the images dont display, all I get is a blank space and
ability to click on it - I have the latest java installed and it starts up on
the space where the ads should be, but then disappears and leaves me with
nothingness - didn't think fp banner ad manager would be this complicated -
has microsoft offered an
alternative - if not is there an easy to use and understand banner ad system
available?

Yes, there is an alternative but only in FP2003.
I can't recommend the use of Java in web pages as too many don't have a
Java interpretator installed.
I suggest you look for a thirdparty solution in Javascript, ASP or PHP.

Maybe you are like the vast majority of users. Maybe you have banner
ads blocked! ;-)

Thanks for responses - I have already tried all suggestions - maybe time to
take a computer course. Why did Microsoft include banner ad manager if it
doesn't work?

It does work for those users that have a Java Virtual Machine installed, such Windows 98 users,
Windows 2000 users, early releases of Windows XP and SP1 users. Windows XP SP1a and up users, only
have it if the install Sun's Java Virtual Machine.

This also applies to the FP Hover Button applet.
