balloon problem

Hi,
I have basically the same problem as "all things mopar" who wrote at
5:09am this morning.
I have the automatic updates service shut down and in 'manual' mode.
I have my own anti-virus which I do myself on a regular schedule but not
automatically. I have my own firewall (hardware and zonealarm). However,
this damn balloon in the system tray keeps popping up and says "auto
updates is turned off" and "anti-virus software might not be installed".
It comes from an icon labeled "windows security alerts".
I have checked in 'services' but can't identify anything that might
be it and I'm not sure what to look for in regedit. So how in the heck
do I disable this darn thing. Inquiring minds want to know. ;-)

Open control panel by Start | Control Panel. Go to security center. In
the left pane go to "Change the way Security Center alerts me."

Who would have thought it was right there in front on one?

Thanks.
