Bad_Pool_Header 0x00000019

I have been working on this on and off for about a fortnight, so I am losing
my mind about now...
Since XP SP2 installation I now have this error Bad_Pool_Header 0x00000019
with BSOD coming up whenever I try to use Nero (Event viewer entry: The
computer has rebooted from a bugcheck. The bugcheck was: 0x00000019
(0x00000020, 0x85f6c940, 0x85f6c9f0, 0x1a16000a). A dump was saved in:
C:\WINDOWS\Minidump\Mini021905-09.dmp.) . Occasionally (once a day) this
happens for no reason at all but I can replicate it EVERY time I use Nero,
when I select the disc type I wish to write, immediately it BSODs. I have
narrowed it down to the SP2 install which seems to impact Nero immediately
after it is installed. I have had SP2 installed for months but just put up
with not being able to use Nero. (BTW I am using the latest version which IS
supposed to be SP2 compat.)
I have formatted C several times and installed all HW and SW one at a time,
rebooting and checking for errors etc... I have checked all HW for problems
but all is fine (it is only a few months old anyway) - I have a P4 3Ghz CPU
on a 8KNXP rev2 Gigabyte MB, 300MB RAIDed (stripe) C:, 300MB RAIDed (stripe)
D:, Radeon 9800Pro VC, Antec 450W PSU, 2 x 512MB DDR400 Ram, NEC DVDRW-DL.
All drivers are up to date as are all patches for the software installed. Not
so much of a question as I now revert back to pre SP2, however I notice it
states on MS update site that SP2 will soon be required for updates page to
work…
My question: When are MS going to get this right? Are we supposed to go
through such pain every time MS discovers another flaw in their software?
Perhaps if anyone else can offer some sort of work around I would be
grateful as I simply can’t be bothered wasting anymore time on Microsoft’s
problem causing upgrades/updates.

Try disabling xp cd burning:
Remove Built in CD burning

Run gpedit.msc
User Configuration --> Administrative Templates --> Windows Explorer
Look for Remove CD Burning Features and double click on it
Choose enabled and apply

I have done all that from group policies, even started from scratch, no
difference, even edited the specific entry for this in the registry, yes it
disables the drives doing it either way but still has not helped or fixed the
problem at all. I have now resorted back to std Win XP SP1 and it is working
fine, no more BSOD, no more event errors etc...Nero is working fine and it
will while ever I dont install SP2. However at some stage I will need to fix
this problem as I will require SP2 if I want any support from MS - not that I
am getting much now...
