Bad Performance

i have win xp installed on my PC , now my computer
performance getting bad , but i watch that the progress
bars colors changed from green to brown when i copy
somthing for example so how can i make it green again and
have my computer better

Which exact behaviors are slow? Everything? Or only certain things like file
copying?
