Hi,

I made a DVD and tried to play it on our TV. The message
I receive is bad disk. Why is this? What did I do wrong?
The DVD plays fine on my computer. I also tried a CD-R
and received the same message.

Thanks!

Some home DVD players just don't handle burned media very well, if at all.
One of my fairly-new CD players refuses to play CD-R audio CDs, and my new
DVD player balks at some, but not all, DVD-R discs. The fact that you are
able to play the DVD on your computer verifies the fact that the burn went
well and the data is all on the disc. The limiting factor is therefore your
home DVD player. I recommend that you do what I did- go out shopping for a
new player, and take along a couple of burned discs to try out in the
showroom. Buy yourself a new unit which will play all of your burned media.

Happy Shopping,
Ian.
