Bad character spacing in linked Word file

In Access 2007 I have a report that links to a Word 2007 file to display some
of the text in the report (which file depends on a field in a table). The
character spacing is all messed up in both the preview and printed version.
For example with the word "can" the "c" and "a" are far apart but the "a" and
"n" are touching. The spacing in the same word can be different in another
place in the text. I have tried different fonts, with and without kerning,
several formats including doc, docx, and rtf, with and without extra spacing.
With extra character spacing in the Word file the characters are further
apart but still not uniform. When I tried to link to a pdf file, the
character spacing was ok but got poor resolution and could not get the size
of the text block to fit. Help!

I finally found out how to fix this! There are two options. You can create a mail merge from Access. Or, the option I chose, is to use a label instead of a text box. The letters are evenly spaced in a label. Try it!
