I am trying to backup my files on the CD rom. After 15 minutes it still
says, "preparing to backup" and the progress bar is stuck at 3/8 inch. How
can I get it to successfully backup?

What software are you using to back up? Are you using CD/Rs or CD/RW's,
and if so, are the RW's formatted?

What are you attempting to back up - specifically, how large is the data
set?

Is there enough space on the CD for your backup?

More details are needed.

Finally, you may find that there's another window hiding in the background,
User Access Control requiring your input, but shoved to the back where you
can't see it.
